A Message From the Clinical Director

Hello Aim High Community,

My name is Dana Donaldson and I’m the clinical director of Aim High Impact. I’ve been working in the field of ABA therapy for over two decades. I have worked with kids ages 2 to 18 who were mildly to severely affected by autism in schools, homes, and clinics.

Through the years, what I remember are the lives that I’ve changed: the parents that thanked me, a client that graduated college, and another that grew up and texted me about how well their life is going. I’ve seen how ABA has grown as a science, from autism being more recognized and accepted by the general public to the introduction of better technology that could aid my clients. I’ve become a parent to a child with autism, which has given me so much more sympathy to the families of those affected; how confusing navigating this space can be and how much you can love your child.

In 2015, a parent approached me and asked if there was a full-day clinic their child could attend after aging out of the clinic I was working at. They had looked at special education programs and private schools, and none of them had high enough expectations for what their child could do. I asked other parents if they would be interested and they jumped at the opportunity. This was the seed of the Impact program, which later separated into its own standalone clinic under Aim High in 2017.

Our clinic has grown and changed since then, but one thing remains true: I’m proud of Aim High Impact. I am proud of how we’ve put together resources for families that have been otherwise unsupported. I am humbled by your stories and I remain committed to bringing hope to many more children and families to come.

Sincerely,

Dana Donaldson
